Camelback Inn

The JW Marriott Camelback Inn gives guests an authentic Southwestern experience and invites you to simply relax and take time to discover the magic of the Sonoran Desert.

Nestled at the base of Mummy Mountain and overlooking the famous Camelback Mountain, this landmark resort, set on 125 acres of lush desert landscape, gives guests an authentic Southwestern experience.

Camelback Inn has been welcoming guests to its award-winning desert hideaway for more than 60 years. It was the first resort hotel built in the Scottsdale area of Arizona back in 1936. It had a dirt road in front of it called Lincoln Drive and there were no homes or businesses around the area at all – just little Camelback Inn. The property is now surrounded by luxury homes on minimum one-acre lots in the exclusive town of Paradise Valley, Arizona.

When if first opened in 1936, the Camelback Inn had about 80 rooms. Marriott Hotel Corporation acquired the property in 1967 and expanded the resort form 118 to 453 guest rooms. Many other amenities were added throughout the years, as well as extensive meeting and convention facilities. From May 2007 – September 2008, the resort underwent a $50 million revitalization coined as “The Legend Grows”.

With six dining and lounge options, as well as the The Spa at Camelback Inn, the resort invites you to simply relax and take time to discover the magic of the Sonoran Desert and fabulous up-close views of the famed Camelback and Mummy Mountains.

Located a short three miles from the resort, Camelback Golf Club, one of Arizona’s original gems, features 36 holes of championship golf located in beautiful Scottsdale, Arizona. Whether you choose the Padre course with its towering trees and impressive bunkering, or the Ambiente course with its breathtaking setting and magnificent mountain backdrops, you’re sure to enjoy your round.
