While the Club functions as a semi-private golf club, it invites and encourages daily play by members of the general public, and you’ll definitely want to play Rancho Mañana golf course if you’d like to experience the true rustic and natural Arizona desert. The par-70 championship layout features dramatic elevation changes, unspoiled desert terrain, abundant wildlife and the rustic charm of the historic dude ranch, which is now part of the resort property.
From the first fairway, each subsequent hole ventures upward, to higher elevations, where one can witness some of the state’s most breathtaking views. With holes 7 and 9, golfers experience a truly unique experience with a pair of par 3’s that forces one to gaze over the dramatic drop in elevation and tingling views. Golfers then begin to meander back towards the site of a once thriving, real western dude ranch – now the existing clubhouse and restaurant facilities, with their original, rustic structures. From there, Rancho Mañana’s back nine allows one to encounter a slightly different experience, as golfers work their way around a lush oasis of water-guarded holes with 360 degrees of unobstructed mountain views, where Mother Nature’s flourishing, vast array of wildlife can be found, including the likes of bobcats, roadrunners, rabbits and mule deer.
Listed by Golf Digest as “One of the Top 50 Courses in the Country for Women,” and ranked in the “Top 10 Golf Courses” in Arizona by Ranking Arizona, Rancho Mañana Golf Club poses a significant challenge for low handicappers, but it also attracts and is well known for its fairness and playability for golfers of all levels.
