The Desert Canyon Golf Club 18-hole championship course is one of Arizona’s top golfing facilities. It features elevated tees coupled with a variety of elevation changes. Fairways, though open, play tight and prove challenging with strategically placed doglegs.
Surrounded by breathtaking vistas of the nearby mountain ranges, lucky winter visitors can catch a rare view of snow atop the well known Four Peaks mountains in the distance, or watch the hourly display of the Fountain Hills fountain, the highest spraying fountain in the country that surges high enough to be seen throughout the city.

OUR TIP: The Fountain Hills (and Fort McDowell) courses are carved out of the mountains so they’re very hilly and afford some nice views, but even with a cart some people might find them physically challenging. If you prefer something flatter, head to the six Scottsdale courses a little farther away. After your round of golf, check out the world’s tallest fountain at Fountain Park in Fountain Hills. The park is surrounded by stores, restaurants and walking paths around the lake, so it’s a nice leisurely way to spend the afternoon.
