A fabulous resort, a great upscale North Scottsdale location, and a golf course that hosts the PGA TOUR’S largest attended annual tournament.
Sitting next to the famed TPC Scottsdale (home of the Waste Management Phoenix Open), the five-star Fairmont Scottsdale Princess sits on 65 pristine acres of North Scottsdale’s most prime real estate. With spectacular views of the McDowell Mountains, the resort blends old world Spanish-style architecture with a modern contemporary edge. Great North Scottsdale upscale shopping, dining, and nightlife are just minutes away.
This indulgent desert oasis originally opened in December 1987 as the Scottsdale Princess, and became the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess in 2000 when they were merged with the Fairmont Hotel brand, but long-time Scottsdale residents still just refer to it as “The Princess.”
As a recipient of the AAA Five Diamond Award every year since 1990, the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess was not happy just resting on their laurels, and in 2007 underwent a $45 million renovation, incorporating every modern amenity into the accommodations. You’ll find that the hotel offers all of the superb amenities you’d expect to find at a world-class destination resort, and more.
The grounds of the hotel are dramatic and soothing, with lagoons, fountains, fire pits, colorful desert plants, and expansive green spaces, making it a lush contrast to the surrounding Sonoran Desert.
Golfers can challenge themselves at either of the two 18-hole courses at the TPC Scottsdale adjacent to the hotel. The Stadium Course hosts the PGA-TOUR’s annual Waste Management Phoenix Open (formerly the FBR Open), and the equally challenging Champions Course also offers top quality conditions that meet PGA-TOUR standards.
Golfers and non-golfers alike can indulge themselves at the award-winning Willow Stream Spa, or soak up the warm Arizona sunshine next to one of the five sparkling heated pools. The resort also offers something for the entire family, with five restaurants and lounges, a modern fitness center, and Bobcat Billy’s Clubhouse for the kids.
Accommodations
The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess offers 649 richly appointed guest rooms, including two Presidential Suites, 69 Fairmont Gold Rooms and 119 Casitas.
All accommodations throughout the hotel have well-defined living and work areas, terraces, wet bars, refreshment centers, and oversized luxury bathrooms. Elegant furnishings with vibrant Southwestern accents, alluring lighting and crisp lines add stylish flair. Richly textured drapes frame panoramic views of Scottsdale and the desert beyond. This is a place to relax in style.

TPC Scottsdale is home of the fan-favorite Waste Management Phoenix Open, the largest-attended tournament in the world with over 500,000 fans annually. The club boasts two 18-hole professional-level championship courses. The world famous Stadium Course, designed by Jay Morrish and Tom Weiskopf, is where the Waste Management Phoenix Open is played, and the local favorite Champions Course has been newly renovated, crafted by Randy Heckenkemper.
Set in the rugged Sonoran Desert and surrounded by the stunning McDowell Mountains, the club offers two championship courses to enjoy – the world famous Stadium Course and the stunning Champions Course. As Arizona’s only PGA TOUR facility, it’s a unique opportunity to experience the standards of quality and service normally reserved for the pros.
Stadium Course
Home of the PGA TOUR’S fan-favorite Waste Management Phoenix Open, The Stadium Course at TPC Scottsdale has hosted some of contemporary golf’s greatest moments since opening in 1986. The course was designed specifically to serve as the stage for the tournament – what’s now become the largest spectator golf event in the world.
During the 51 weeks of the year when fans are not watching the sport’s top names make history, they can test their own skills on the same pristine fairways – maintained to PGA TOUR-quality standards year-round.
The course is most famous for it’s par-3, 16th hole that transforms into “The Coliseum” during the Waste Management Phoenix Open – providing fans with one of the most exciting settings in professional sports. Throughout the rest of the course, players will find an ideally balanced layout that blends challenge and playability – appealing to all levels of ability.
Champions Course
Rivaling its famous sister course in both beauty and playability, the Randy Heckenkemper-designed Champions Course offers the ideal desert golf experience. Built on the former site of TPC Scottsdale’s Desert Course, the layout was completely revamped in 2007 to flow seamlessly within the naturally rugged terrain, meandering between natural ravines and through picturesque foothills.
The course was crafted to balance strategy with design, so as not to favor any one type of play. Each hole can be played a multitude of ways – providing golfers of all skill levels with a challenging experience that can be significantly different each time they play. A quartet of challenging finishing holes adds an acclaimed ending stretch that promises to leave even the best players with goose bumps.
Fees commensurate with municipal golf facilities and a PGA TOUR caliber experience throughout make The Champions Course a local favorite.
