Talking Stick Resort is the newest Scottsdale luxury golf resort, offering a Vegas-style 240,000 SqFt gaming facility, a 650-seat showroom, and a modern 15-story tower with expansive desert vistas.
Talking Stick Resort just opened in July 2010, making it the newest luxury golf resort in Scottsdale. The resort not only offers 36 holes of pristine Troon Managed golf, but you can also enjoy world class gaming, gourmet dining, first-rate entertainment, two pools, and a state-of-the-art spa.
Taking inspiration from the Salt River Pima Indian Community, this 15-story luxury resort incorporates water, light and earth elements with its use of ornamental metals, wood paneling and stone countertops that can be seen in guest rooms, conference spaces, gaming floor, restaurants and the spa. Elegant and eco-friendly interiors with views of Scottsdale, Camelback Mountain and the surrounding desert, guests experience a rich environment inside and out.
A priceless collection of Native American art is displayed throughout the resort. Guests are greeted by a cultural center in the hotel lobby. Ensconced in glass, the cultural center features native pottery and a talking stick from which the property gets its name. Other art mediums exhibited include historic photographs, textiles, paintings, baskets, jewelry and more. Each piece of art was created by Native American artists throughout the country, and some were commissioned exclusively for Talking Stick Resort.
The Spa at Talking Stick – a 13,000 square foot, open-air spa located on the 14th floor – is the ultimate in world-class rejuvenation. With private rooms offering guests unparalleled views of the Valley and floor-to-ceiling windows that can be opened during treatments. True to the heritage and traditions of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, The Spa at Talking Stick uses products made with culturally significant ingredients harvested from the community gardens for use in the treatments and services.
Adjacent to the resort is Talking Stick Golf Club, a championship golf club, with 36 holes of golf, managed by Troon Golf. Two courses – North and South – test the skills of golfers of all levels. The North Course is links-style through grassland, while the South Course is more traditional and lined with trees. Transportation is provided to the golf club from the resort.
After your round of golf, or day at the spa, enjoy a meal or a drink at one of the five restaurants or five lounges. Talking Stick Resort’s signature restaurant, Orange Sky, provides guests with panoramic views of the Camelback and McDowell Mountains from the 15th floor of the resort, and offers an exceptional fine dining experience.
If you’re feeling lucky, head down to the 240,000 square foot gaming facility. The Casino Arizona at Talking Stick Resort has more than 700 slot machines, and more than 50 table games including Blackjack. The casino is available to guests 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Take in a show at the 650-seat showroom. From comedy shows and Motown Blues Tributes to Rock and Roll and Country acoustic performances, the Showroom at Talking Stick Resort has it all. And with just 650 seats, this venue offers everyone a great view of all the action.
If the golf, the spa, the gambling, the dining, and the entertainment aren’t enough to keep you busy, head over the Pavilions Shopping Center, or take in an Arizona Diamondbacks spring training game just a mile away.

Talking Stick Golf Club
Talking Stick Golf Course, managed by Troon Golf, is located on the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community and offers two 18-hole resort-style courses: The North Course, and The South Course. Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw teamed up to create two uniquely different golf courses here, offering many options for golfers of all skill levels. From links style grasslands and ingenious bunkering on the North Course to a traditional style of play on the tree-lined fairways of the South Course, both provide a serene yet challenging day of play.
“Talking Stick’s North course, with its broad, angular holes rewards thoughtful play through the rise of its many options according to one’s level of skill. Its low-profile, slightly crowned greens and close-cropped approaches encourage running as well as aerial assaults… The South course, with its tree-lined fairways and raised greens defended at the sides offers a more straightforward style of play.”
– Bill Coore & Ben Crenshaw
