The Phoenician Resort sits on 250 acres of land in the shadow of Camelback Mountain with awe-inspiring views and easy access to both downtown Phoenix and downtown Scottsdale.
Nestled at the base of Camelback Mountain, Phoenix’s most recognizable landmark, the views at The Phoenician are awe-inspiring. From the impressive Camelback Mountain at your door, to the elevated views from the lounges and restaurants that can take in the entire Phoenix Valley, you’ll have lots to do and see here.
Sitting on 250 breathtaking acres, this huge resort is virtually a small village unto itself, offering numerous boutiques, a $25 million art collection, 10 restaurants & lounges, 9 pools, an 11-court tennis complex, 27 holes of golf, and of course, the Centre for Well Being spa. If all that is not enough to keep you busy, you are just a short equidistant drive to either the famed Biltmore Plaza shopping center or the Scottsdale Fashion Square. Both shopping centers host the best top designer stores as well as restaurants and clubs from casual to chic.
Infamous developer Charles Keating (from the S&L scandals of the 1980’s) created The Phoenician during his heyday, and it is the crown jewel of his creations. In 1985, Charles Keating had a vision: to combine the richness of traditional European elements with the kaleidoscope of color and intriguing style of the Southwest to create a multi-million-dollar, Five Diamond resort in stunning Scottsdale, Arizona. To bring his vision to life, Keating purchased the land at the base of Camelback Mountain – the most recognizable location in the Valley, providing dramatic views of the city skyline.
Opening on October 1, 1988, the 250-acre resort is characterized by several exclusive landmarks, including the historic pueblo-inspired Jokake Inn, one of the area’s first hotels, and a two-acre Cactus Garden.
In creating this sparkling gem in the Sonoran Desert, no expense was spared and no detail was overlooked. From exquisite Italian marble imported for use throughout the resort, to an exclusive $25 million art collection, to a lush tropical landscape created by natives from the Kingdom of Tonga, The Phoenician remains a masterpiece of architecture and design.

The Phoenician Golf Club
This stunning 18-hole golf course offers unparalleled, iconic views of the Phoenix Valley and beyond. Stately saguaros sit on emerald fairways that flow through natural desert terrain and up into the mountain.
After a 10-month redesign lead by architect Phil Smith, the new Phoenician Golf Club transformed the previous 27-hole facility into a cohesive 18-hole golf course with a natural rhythm and flow.
The entirely new course features completely new greens, tees, fairways, accented by flaired bunker styling, with an overall theme of the landscape design will showcase the unique beauty of Arizona’s Sonoran Desert.
Everything is in front of the golfer, with no surprise bunkers or blind hazards. The course plays to a par 71 and offers four sets of player-friendly tees, ranging from 4,594 yards from the forward tees to 6,518 yards from the championship tees. Complementing it are The Phoenician Golf Shop, locker rooms and 19th Hole dining venue, which were all renovated and expanded.
